League Rules
Only mileage that is logged within the specified week period (Wed 12:01 AM EST – Fri 11:59 PM EST) will be counted in the World Running League.
The mileage at Friday 11:59 PM EST is the only mileage that will be counted, even if the mileage is in error.
If the difference between two team's mileage at Friday 11:59 PM EST is greater than (but not including) 1.00 miles, the team with the greater number of miles will be awarded 3 points and the team with the lesser number of miles will be awarded 0 points.
If the difference between two team's mileage at Friday 11:59 PM EST is less than or equal to 1.00 miles, both teams will be awarded 1 point.
At the end of the season, the top eight (8) teams will advance to the playoffs. Teams are ranked based on their number of points acquired throughout the eight (8) week season. If two (2) or more teams are tied with the same number of points at the end of the season, the team(s) with the greater total mileage will advance if they are in a qualifying position.
Mileage may not be “held” and synced at the last moment. It is understood that users may not be able to upload their miles right after a run, however, uploading lots of mileage at the last second gives an unfair advantage. It is up to the sole discretion of the World Running League administration to decide what constitutes as holding mileage.
In any playoff match, there will be no ties awarded. The team with the most mileage will advance, even if they are separated by 0.01 miles. If both teams are exactly equal, the team's W-L record will be consulted. If it is still a tie, the team's total mileage for the regular season will be consulted to determine the winner.
Cheating is not tolerated in the World Running League and any user found cheating or attempting to cheat will be removed from the World Running League.
If a user has not logged any mileage for two consecutive weeks, without notifying the World Running League by one of the following methods (Private Message, Contact Form or Email), the user is subject to being removed, if so requested through one of the aforementioned methods of contact by another World Running League user on the same team. A user who is removed will be notified by email (sent to the email address provided by the user during user registration) that they have been removed.
If a user logs onto the World Running League website and finds that he/she has been removed (a notice will appear at the top of the website, when a removed user has logged in) and wishes to re-join, he/she may use to Contact form to let the World Running League administration of their intent. While they likely will not return to their original team, they will be placed at the top of the World Running League waiting list.
